Plugged up

I have a hard time sleeping at night with my CPAP machine. Sometimes I do well and use it all the time, and other times I can’t use it at all. The mask goes over my nose only and it pushes on my sinus, I guess and makes my nose plugged up, and I can’t breathe. I would say half the time I don’t use it for this reason anyone else have this problem and if so, have you been able to figure something

  1. Hi. I'm sorry you're going through this; that's really frustrating! It can also be a common problem when you have air blowing in your face all the time.

    Two questions:

    Do you use a humidifier in your machine, and/or maybe saline nose spray like the Ayr brand? Keeping your sinus cavities flushed out and moistened might make a difference.

    The other question is if you've tried different masks. There are a lot of different options out there today that cover your nose and mouth, or even your whole face, that might prevent the pushing against your nose that you're experiencing. Here's an article about mask types:
