Has your skin had a reaction to the mask material? If so how did you deal with it.

Let others know they are not alone and what you found as a solution.

  1. I've been using CPAP for years and have never had any problems with it.

    1. I thought I was going crazy with the itching on head and watery eyes. I suspected the straps. I even called my provider and they were clueless. I noticed the strap is a Phillips product. I am not saying I know definitely the strap is causing my issue but I have not had this issue in previous years. Still looking for help. Thank you.

      1. If you have been using the product for years it would be odd to suddenly have a problem with it. Did you change your soap you clean your mask with or the way you clean your headgear and such? Is the mask and strap old and needs to be replaced? I have a lot of problems with water eyes during allergy season and need to have an extra filter on. They do make some strap covers that people sometimes like to use. Maybe that may help? 2. I have had breakouts on my face for many years that I have suspected may be from the headgear. I do try to wash it occasionally but I don’t want straps to stretch and have to replace more often .
You mention there are cloth covers for some masks. I use a Resmed face mask with nasal pillows. I will look for cushions and covers at my medical supply store, or are they only sold online? Kathy in Michigan

      1. @jj1969 Do a google search for CPAP Mask Liners or Mask Covers. You can get them on-line or you can talk to your equipment provider as they may also have some or be able to order you some specifically for your type of mask. A lot of people have used them and found them to be very helpful. I have even seen strap covers as well. You may find that as an option that you can use and wash more often without stretching out your headgear. Let me know how it goes Kathy. Warmly, Lisa (Team Member)

    3. I know a lot of people find the cloth liners to be very helpful when their skin reacts to the mask material. Some people also said that they wear a silk cap under there CPAP straps and that helps not just with a reaction but also with hair breakage.
