Asking about Inspire

Hi All.

I've run out of treatments for my sleep apnea. The things I've tried include having had two surgeries which the doctors said were "succesful", but failed to cure my OSA (and one left me with a permanently numb lower jaw).

Insprie sounds promising, but I've had such a bad record with surgeries that I'm skeptical. I see all the great outcomes in the marketing literature, but I would like some feedback from people who've had the surgery. How does it feel? What unexpected things, good or bad, are a result? How does it work? What does it feel like when it's on? Can it be turned off? Etc. Any feedback at all, except for things like "It's great!". Are there any bad outcomes out there and why did they occur?

Thanks.

  1. I forgot to add, I've already had the DICE procedure which found that I am elligible ("a candidate") for Inspire.

    1. Hi . We haven't had a lot of feedback about the Inspire device yet, but here is one article that might interest you: https://sleepapnea.sleep-disorders.net/living/inspire-implant. This new drug is in the pipeline and will, hopefully, get FDA approval after the third phase of clinical trials: https://apnimed.com/pipeline/. It sounds promising, but it might be a few years before it becomes available.
I hope you get input on Inspire from others in the community. Please keep us posted. Warm wishes. - Lori (Team Member)
