I Was Scared Into Using MY CPAP Every Night

I have moderate sleep apnea. I was also diagnosed with narcolepsy years ago. That's a whole other story.

In denial about my need for CPAP

When I first got my CPAP machine, I wasn't using it every night. To be honest, it was hard to get used to. Very uncomfortable. And I guess I was sort of in denial. So, I told myself I don't need to use this daily!

I had a doctor's appointment, and my doctor asked if I was using my machine every night. I told her no...I was honest.

Not using my CPAP could damage my heart

She told me that I should definitely be using it every night. It can help me feel better, and also when I don't use the machine, my heart is working harder at night because of the condition.

So she said basically not using my machine can cause my heart to wear down and you don't want that to happen! Ever since that day which was about 4 years ago. I have never wavered on my machine!! I take care of it and take my condition very seriously...It could mean my life!
