Insurance Roadblocks

Has anyone had any issues with their insurance provider over coverage of a sleep study or sleep apnea treatment?

  1. personally I haven't had any issues with them covering it. The only slight roadblock was even though I have had sleep apnea for a while our insurance requires you to do an at home study first before they will cover a in lab sleep study. All insurance is different so I always call my provider to double check before the schedule another study. I hope that helps.

    1. The only thing I am aware of is that insurance companies may force patients to "fail" CPAP before moving to BiPAP or ASV or Inspire. Also, from first-hand experience, my dental device in 2010 was not covered by my pretty comprehensive private insurance, though I think this has changed now.
