My doctor recommended the Inspire implanted device for me, and I've heard it's very effective. I chose not to go forward with it, because I have mild apnea and I am tolerating the BiPAP. Also unless they have an MRI compatible device now, you cannot undergo MRI with it implanted. Keep in mind it's kind of two implants; the electrode in the tongue muscle and the battery part in the upper chest. I'll wait for a better option, but I suggest for someone who has moderate to severe apnea, it's a pretty good option.

thanks for pointing out the MRI obstacle. Not everyone remembers this when they move forward, though a sleep doctor ought to be asking about other health conditions which might require regular MRIs (such as multiple sclerosis).
