How bad is my sleep apnea

I just did in home testing and was diagnosed with OSA at 60+ events per hour and oxygen level as low as 68% at one point..

How bad is this should I be taking time off from work ?

  1. Hi , welcome to our community - how has the process been going so far? 🙂 Warmly, — Matt G. (sleepapnea.sleep-disorders.net) Team Member

    1. Hi @michaelscai, thank you for your question and for sharing your experience with a sleep apnea home test. I highly recommend waiting for the sleep specialist to get in contact with you to discuss your results. The lab might even need to schedule a second sleep study as there are some disadvantages to taking a home test. While you are waiting for your follow up, feel free to check out the various articles in our community about home tests. Sharing an article from one of our advocates that might he helpful: https://sleepapnea.sleep-disorders.net/living/why-another-study. From my personal experience, I continued to work after diagnosis and before I received my machine. My quality of life wasn't great before CPAP therapy, but definitely improved after I started using it. So again, I recommend speaking with the sleep specialist about your result and the sooner you can start treatment, the better. Do keep us updated on your progress. All the best, Vashanti (Community Advocate and Team Member)
