Tom

I've known I had apnea for decades. The last stay in the hospital encouraged me to get help. I now have a machine, but have much trouble with the masks. I have a thick mustache and beard. I can't stop leaking without having it so tight that it hurts my face or nose. I also have central apnea that causes a lot of my issues. I'm still working with my doctor but am ready to give up. I have lived 66 years without the mask, I probably have a few more years in me.

  1. Hi there, thank you so much for joining our community for for your comment. I'm sorry to hear you are struggling with finding the right mask for you. There are tons of different options out there and I would definitely recommend consulting with your supplier to find the right one for you. I know at this point you might be thinking you can do without the treatment, but trust me, once you start treating your sleep apnea, you will notice a huge difference in the quality of your life. Meanwhile, I've heard of the Philps DreamWear mask: https://www.usa.philips.com/healthcare/product/HCNOCTN452/dreamwear-mask-with-multiple-cushion-options as well as Bleep Sleep DreamPort that might be worth looking into: https://bleepsleep.com/. Sending you good vibes for some comfort and relief soon, Vashanti (Community Advocate and Patient Leader)
