Snorting

Just notice lately that I get waken up by a snorting sound. Not loosing my breath just a snort. Is that sleep apnea? I also suffer from anxiety for many years. Thank you

  1. Hi, Joey! It may be that you are snoring. This can come with or without apnea, but there's no way to know without having a study done, as Lori said.

I did want to ask about your anxiety. It can be so hard to enjoy life and find peace when you are struggling with excessive worry -- especially about your health. Have you ever considered talking to a therapist? It's a great way to express your concerns while getting tips to manage those difficult physical and emotional symptoms that come with anxiety. Therapy has been a huge part of my own recovery process, and I hope you can find the same peace, too. You may also want to talk with your doctor about whether or not anxiety medication could also help. You don't have to struggle alone.

    1. I don't have any other symptoms. No snoring, no headache, no tiredness except normal. Thank you

      1. Hi . It could be an indication of sleep apnea, but it's impossible to know without a sleep study. Have you talked to your doctor about it? Are you often tired during the day even when you get a full night's sleep? Sleep studies are much more convenient now than ever. They can be done at home with little disruption to your regular schedule. Here is an article about the diagnostic process that might interest you: https://sleepapnea.sleep-disorders.net/diagnosis. I hope this helps. Best wishes. - Lori (Team Member)
