Osa for 2 years and suddenly not able to breath

I am 40 years old and I am using cpa machine for 2 years now. I was sleeping well until now. Suddenly the last 10 days I wake up without air and a lot of tachycardia (so much tachycardia the last night I went to the er). Could I suddenly have central sleep apnea? If so Is this manageable? I am very afraid.

  1. Hi . I've been wondering how you are doing, so I thought I would check in. I hope your breathing issues and tachycadria have resolved and that you are able to enjoy the rest of the holiday season. Warm wishes. - Lori (Team Member)

    1. Hi . My husband has Central Sleep Apnea and his CPAP treats it successfully. He never sleeps without it. There are lots of other issues though that can make you skip breaths during the night, such certain medications and cardiac issues. Even if a different CPAP machine doesn't help you, there are many other ways to treat it that your doctor can discuss with you depending on the cause. So, yes, it is generally managable. Have you seen your primary care doctor or your pulminologist yet? Keep us posted if you don't mind. I will be thinking of you. - Lori (Team Member)
