Inspire

I read the post re: Inspire.

I would not want to have surgery to put the Inspire in my body. If something goes wrong with it, or if they have a newer model you will have to have more surgery to get it out or fixed. It seems much simpler, although sometimes a real pain, to put up with the Cpap/Bipap machines.

I was wearing 3M tape on my mouth with the nasal mask. I kept getting the dreaded red face on my machine for awhile. I had to go back to full-face mask.

Then I found PapMD mouth strips, pack of 30. The material is breathable and stretchy fabric, hypoallergenic, latex free, strips. Since using them I am back with my nasal mask. These strips cover a larger part of your mouth. Extremely comfortable.

  1. Thanks for sharing! There are lots of options out there and we support whatever choice you choose to make for your situation.

I'm curious about these mouth strips -- despite working here and having a husband who uses a CPAP, this is the first I've heard of them! Are they meant to keep you from mouth breathing while you sleep? The stretchy material sounds a lot more comfortable than the 3M tape! Glad you were able to go back to the nasal mask. That's my husband's preferred setup, too.

    1. Hi . I am glad you found something that helps and allows you to use your nasal mask comfortable. Inspire is definitely not for everyone. Wishing you the best. - Lori (Team Member)
