Dry Mouth

I am experiencing dry mouth every night I use my cpac mask. I have tried several from the full face to just the nasal mask and every time I wake up several times at night with extremely dry mouth. I've also increased the moisture level to 5 and tried it with no water in the reservoir but still dry mouth. Any suggestions would be appreciated as I'm getting broken sleep every night now. Thanks for your time

  1. Hi Pat (). For your safety, I removed your email address and full name from your post. Anyone can read the post here and we don't want people to try to scam you in any way. Have you talked with your doctor about your issues with dry mouth? Did you experience dry mouth before starting on a CPAP machine? If so, it might be caused by something unrelated and require a different approach to treatment. Here is an article about the other potential causes of dry mouth that might interest you: https://sleepapnea.sleep-disorders.net/living/dry-mouth. If the CPAP is contributing to your mouth breathing issues, here is an article with some suggestions for overcoming it: https://sleepapnea.sleep-disorders.net/living/mouth-breathers-cpap-mask-leak. Regardless, it would be good to mention the dry mouth issues to both your doctor and your dentist since it can lead to serious health problems. I hope this helps and that others chime in with their own experiences. Best wishes. - Lori (Team Member)
