Have you ever tried positional therapy?

It’s estimated that more than half of all cases of OSA are “position dependent,” meaning the severity of apneas significantly changes depending upon sleeping position. Share your experience with sleep positions and how it has impacted your sleep apnea.

  1. what mask to you use?

    1. @anniefannie I use a nasal mask myself. Just happen to not like pillows. Warmly, Lisa (SleepApnea.Sleep-Disorders.net Team Member and Advocate)

  2. I definitely enjoy more positions for sleeping now that my OSA is treated. I used to ony be able to sleep on my left side, but now I can sleep on my back and right side.

CPAP has helped to not only control my apneas, but it has helped to control my acid reflux, which can be linked to OSA (https://sleepapnea.sleep-disorders.net/healthy-eating), and I have fewer neck and shoulder problems because I can sleep in more positions now (https://sleepapnea.sleep-disorders.net/clinical/positional-therapy).

Best wishes, Tamara Sellman, SleepApnea.Sleep-Disorders.net community advocate
