behind the ear CPAP mask

HELP! Just tried my 6th mask with no success. SEVERE claustrophobia. Has anyone tried a behind the ear CPAP mask? Pros/cons? Other recommendations? TIA.

  1. Hi . I do not have any experience with that kind of mask, but I hope you hear from others in the community. Have all six masks been full-face masks? Have you been working with a medical supply store directly or just ordering different masks on your own. A good medical supply store should be super helpful in finding something that works for you. Another option is a mandibular advancement device. Here is an article about MADs that might interest you: https://sleepapnea.sleep-disorders.net/living/first-time-trying-mads. If you have obstructive sleep apnea caused by weight gain, you might also be a candidate for the weight loss drug Zepbound (tirzepatide). It was approved for sleep apnea only about a week ago. Here is a link to an FDA article about it: https://www.fda.gov/news-events/press-announcements/fda-approves-first-medication-obstructive-sleep-apnea. I hope this helps and that you find a way to get some relief. Best wishes. - Lori (Team Member)
