My Story

My name is Janet, and I have been told by family members that I snore. Then my husband told me I stopped breathing, and I didn’t believe him. I went and had a sleep study done at a facility. When I got the results - boy, was I surprised. I stopped breathing so many times!

It took me a while to get used to it, but now I’m like the poster child for the continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machine! Just like the American Express catchphrase, I never leave home without my CPAP, and I will always wear it when I go to sleep.

I also had a heart attack seven years ago, and as a result of that, I am oxygen dependent all the time. There is a piece that connects to my CPAP that allows me to attach my oxygen hose to it.

I look forward to reading and talking to anybody else in this sleep apnea community. Thank you and have a great day!
