My CPAP Machine Is My Lifesaver

My sleep apnea journey began in 1998. I had not heard of this condition until my doctor sent me for the study. My CPAP machine is my lifesaver.

Husband heard snoring

My husband would mention that I snored but that was it. I worked nights and I always was tired and sleepy even though I slept plenty of hours during the day. It took quite a while to get used to it and I still didn’t use it like I should have.

After my husband passed a few years later, I stopped using it all together. Still working nights, I would drive home in the morning in a twilight sleep. And that was scary. But still not using my cpap.

Serious about CPAP

In 2012 I met my current husband and he said to me: “Chris, you know you stop breathing in your sleep?” I got dead serious, had another study done, and have been faithful to my machine since then.

I absolutely cannot sleep without it now and I look forward to going to bed and getting a good night’s sleep every night.
