A divider and a bell for boxing matches separates an AirSense 10 CPAP machine from the newer AirSense 11.

AirSense 10s Versus AirSense 11 CPAP Machines

My old machine worked but it was time for a new machine since I’ve had it for over 8 years. This is my experience with the AirSense 10 CPAPs for sleep apnea versus the Airsense 11.

My current AirSense 10 CPAP machine

My current machine was the AirSense 10 for Her. The new machine was supposed to be able to auto-adjust when my doctor sends the request to change my pressures which then the medical supply company could do remotely. However, when I got there to pick it up, they had an AirSense 10 that looked exactly like the machine I had at home except it was black.

Since I’m using the machine and still struggling, we are often adjusting the settings which is a headache. The first time we tried, my doctor assumed that the medical supply company could do it remotely. However, we found out that wasn’t an option. I had to bring the machine in and leave it for at least an hour to adjust the range of the pressure settings.

I was super excited and ready to get a newer, hopefully, better model than my 8-year-old machine.

AirSense 10 for Her features I want to keep

My current machine sends my numbers an hour after I wake to the myAir app so that I can see daily how my sleep is going.

My current machine also has a humidifier that can be adjusted

AirSense 10 Card to Cloud disappointments

The only thing that I dislike about the replacement CPAP machine, an AirSense 10 Card to Cloud, is that I would get the numbers to my phone. But in order to make changes to my setting, I would have to take my machine in to the medical supply company and leave it for at least an hour for them to update my numbers from an SD card.

The Airsence 10 Card to Cloud looked identical to my machine so I had a ton of questions about it. This version of AirSense 10 has an SD card to store your numbers versus my current machine that sends my numbers to the myAir App (see pictures below).

The new machine, AirSense Card to Cloud, would also require me to bring it in to the medical supply company for pressure changes which are the same as my current AirSense for Her. I couldn’t see paying for a machine that felt like a step back from an 8-year-old machine that sends my numbers to the myAir app about an hour after I turn it off in the morning.

Learning about CPAP features and waiting for the right machine for me

If you are due to upgrade your continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machine, I would check with your medical supply company to see what they have in stock before scheduling an appointment. I wish I would have called so I could have saved a trip and time.

However, I learned a lot about the features of each of the machines and why the AirSense Card to Cloud would be a downgrade from my current AirSense 10 for Her. If I would have switched to that model, I would no longer be able to use the myAir app. That is 1 of my favorite features to be able to see how many leaks and incidents per hour I’ve had to see if I need to adjust the seal, change out the mask, or reposition myself the next night.

Waiting for the new AirSense 11

I am so excited I will have my new AirSense 11 machine soon and I can’t wait to tell you if the new machine is different and helps me sleep at all.
